Christmas Party & Auction
2009

Parishioners again gathered at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons to celebrate the coming of Christ and to participate in an auction to raise funds for the church and its charitable activities. Parishioners spent the first hour socializing, then enjoyed a delicious meal together. Following dinner, Jim took up his familiar role as auctioneer, and attendees bid on a various items donated by members of the parish. Items ranged from a dinner for six cooked by Bishop Tony, a week at a vacation condo, baskets of Christmas cheer, religious objects, and holiday items.

Farewell to Father Jim

Parishioners gathered after each Mass on Sunday, November 15, 2009 to bid farewell to Father Jim as he returns to Chicago. Parishioners thanked him for his two years of service and expressed our immense gratitude for all that he has done for the parish and the Church while he has been here. We assured him that he always will be a part of the parish.


Diocesan Retreat

November 13-14, 2009

Parishioners from Holy Trinity, St. Andrew, and St. Charles of Brazil parishes traveled to the mountains near Front Royal, Virginia for a day of spiritual reflection and contemplation. Fr. Jim lead us in prayer and song and shared readings, stories, and thoughts with us. We learned about what it means to make Christ our Light and the importance of relationships. Diocesan Crab Feast Gathering

Parishioners of Holy Trinity Parish and St. Andrew the Apostle gathered at a local crab house to share a day together enjoying community and good food. (Click here to see pictures )

 

 

 

Yard Sale
September 2009

 

Parishioners at the Yard Sale

       Holy Trinity parishioners contributed items for its annual yard sale. Proceeds were combined with those of a raffle. All money earned by these two activities were donated to the Daughters of God Orphanage in Haiti and the International Justice Mission.

 

 

Annual Parish Picnic

June 28, 2009

 

       Holy Trinity parishioners celebrated together at the Lake Fairfax Park. The beautiful picnic site was selected by Gene and parishioners enjoyed the burgers and franks provided by the Church. Everyone brought a dish to share and the food was delicious. All enjoyed communing with nature with fellow parishioners.   Click here to see pictures.

 

 

Annual Spaghetti Dinner

       Holy Trinity parishioners enjoyed a spaghetti dinner prepared by Bishop Tony. Parishioners enjoyed the delicious meal and enjoyed getting together to enjoy the fellowship of the community.  Click here to see pictures.

Annual Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast

April 5, 2009

 

       Holy Trinity parishioners enjoyed their annual pancake feast prepared by the Trinity Stars.  Donations were collected to support the Trinity Star's Relay for Life  ministry that supports the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.  Click here to see pictures.

 

 

 

 

Grand Chili Cook Off

 

       Holy Trinity parishioners met on Saturday, January 24, 2009 for the annual Chili Cook Of.  Delicious entries were available for tasting.  Diners found it difficult to decide on which was the best, since all were so spicy and tasty.  Nonetheless after the voting was done, three emerged as the best.  After judging, parishioners ate their fill of chili and enjoyed an evening of socializing.   Proceeds will be used to support future church activities. 

 

 Help for Embry Rucker Community Shelter

       On Saturday February 7, 2009 members of Holy Trinity Parish delivered pillows and bedding that were donated by Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner.  The parish volunteers rented a truck, loaded up the bedding, drove it to the shelter, and then unloaded it.  The staff at the shelter expressed their appreciation for the donations and the efforts of the parishioners  who gave of their time so generously.  Click here to see pictures
