The liturgy and Order of the Mass for CACINA
Catholics closely follow the English version of
the Novus Ordo of the
Roman Missal. CACINA did not adopt the Roman Catholic Church's 2011 translations of the missal.
In addition,
CACINA observes a small number of minor
variations from the order and liturgy of the
Novus Ordo. These
changes are described below:
|
|
-
The
Sign of Peace follows the Prayer of the
Faithful, rather than after the Lord's Prayer.
The rite was moved to its current position to
emphasize the unity of the congregation before
the Liturgy of the Eucharist is begun. Its
place here also allows the congregation to
maintain a sacred and holy atmosphere throughout
the Communion Rite.
-
There
are minor differences in the recitation of the
Nicene Creed. CACINA observes inclusive wording
to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. We also recite
the Creed without the filoque clause as it was
said prior to 447 A.D. Below you will find the wording of the Nicene Creed adopted by CACINA:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty
maker of heaven and earth,
and
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of Life,
who proceeds from the Father.
With the Father and the Son the spirit is worshipped and glorified and has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen
